We, Mark and Ida de Vries, own a biker-hotel on the border of the Alsace and Vosges, since april 1998.
Why does a Dutch family move to the Alsace?
In Holland we owned a cheese- and wineshop, but after seven years, we decided, we would like a change (a new challenge).
We read a small advertisement in a Dutch newspaper about this hotel. We made an appointment with the Belgium owner, and one week later
(after this phone-call), we bought this place. Within two months, we sold our house and our shop, and moved to France.
In the summer time there is a huge beer-garden where you can enjoy the sun, or sit in the shadow of an old lime-tree.
In the evening you can play jeu de boules (bowls) on our ‘court de petanque).
The water of our hotel comes from a spring in the mountain.
We are very happy that we made this move, and it is a great privilege for us, to live and work in such a beautiful area.
Our daughters go to the French school and speak two languages fluently.
We would like two share our enthousiasme with you. Come, and taste the warm atmosphere, the hospitality and friendship in our hotel.
Our hotel is situated in the mountains at an altitude of 731 meters, surrounded by woods.
All seasons are beautiful in this area.

Every room has been renovated, and we created new rooms. All 17 rooms have their own toilet, bathroom and good beds.
There are beds for 45 people.
On the first floor we have eight rooms. One of these rooms is a suite (2 rooms with connecting door and a bathroom with toilet).
There are several 3-bed rooms, doublebed-rooms or twin-rooms.. On the ground floor we created 4 rooms,
one of which is a large suite with five single beds. One room is suitable for disabled guests.

The bar /restaurant is open 16 hours a day from 8.15 am till 00.15
Breakfastbuffet starts at 8.15 and ends at 9.15 with 2 kinds of bread, coffee, thee, cholatemilk,
orangejuice,cheese, sliced cold meat, jam and choclatespread
The diner for our guests starts at 19.00
In the restaurant, you will find an old jukebox and a large old bar. It reminds you of a grand café.
The chairs are comfortable, so that our guests, after diner or during daytime, play a game (cards or backgammon),
read a book, or just start a conversation with other guests.
The atmosphere is warm and informal.
Our guests come from different countries (Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Holland, England, Luxembourg and of course: France.
If the wheather is nice, it is possible to eat in our beer-garden. Ida prepares very often specialities of the region, like chicken in Riesling-sauce,
Choucroute but also very good spareribs.
We have a lot of wines from the region, like the well-known Riesling, but also Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Muscat and Tokay Pinot Gris
(also available as Grand-Cru).
After diner you can enjoy a cup of coffee from our espresso-bar and a local brandy.
We are sure you will feel at home in our hotel.





The hotel is situated in the high Vosges, which is one of the most beautiful motorcycle and walking areas from Europe.
Here, you can enjoy fresh mountain-air, and a variation of mountains and forests.
The Club Vosgien has a lot of good organised walking-tours, which are clearly marked.
You can start walking from the hotel.
The skiing-area is 10-30 minutes away from the hotel. La Bresse, Markstein and Ballon d’Alsace
are the most important skiing and cross-country areas.
The source of the Mosel is 300 meters away from the hotel.

Other activities are: • The mountainbike-trails • Parapente (hanggliding) • Fishing (trout) • The wine-route, with all the small, beautiful villages • The museums • The trenches from the first worldwar in Cernay

For the motorcyclists this region is heaven on earth. There are many beautiful alpine roads with splendid views.
We have prepared some tours for you, for example: The Route Crêtes,
The Wine Route, Ballon d’Alsace, Grand Ballon etc.
You can park in our new motorparking..
The hotelparking is closed from 24.00 till 7.30 so your motorbike is save.
In the summer many motorcyclists from different countries visit our hotel. We have a large beergarden, good music and a comfortable restaurant
